Self-acceptance among secondary school students in Port Sudan locality and its relationship to some variables

The study aimed to identify self-acceptance among secondary school students in Port Sudan locality, in putting variables under consideration: Gender, age, and grade level. The researcher used the descriptive approach to apply her study to a simple random sample of secondary school students in the locality of Port Sudan, where the number of students was (290) male and female (139) male and (151) female, and their ages ranged from 16 to 20. The researcher used scales she prepared, quoting from several scales after adjusting and checking the scale, which is self-acceptance, which consists of 22 statements with an answer (always – sometimes – never). After collecting the data, it was processed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) program using statistical equations represented by the t-test. For one population mean, a t-test for two independent groups, and a one-way analysis of variance (Anova), the study reached several results. Self-acceptance among secondary school students in Port Sudan locality is characterized by low, as the arithmetic mean was (41.19), the calculated t-value was (19.21), and the probability value was (0.000). There are no differences in self-acceptance among secondary school students in Port Sudan locality by gender, as the calculated value (T) was (0.101). The probability value was (0.751). There are no differences in self-acceptance among secondary school students in Port Sudan locality according to age, as the value of (F) is (0.139) and the probability value is (0.140) at the significance level of 0.05. There are differences in self-acceptance among secondary school students. Secondary school in Port Sudan locality by grade level. It is noted that the value of (F) (2.426) and the probability value (0.002) are at the significance level of 0.05.
